...and I've completed my first workout and taken a shower. Today was great, but that's probably because it's day one and i was asleep before 11:00 last night. Jumping in the pool was not fun, but i got used to it pretty quickly and realized that i don't have any goggles. I need to add that to my 'things to get' pile, along with some better running shoes and a bike. So today i kept my head above water, which i think made it a more strenuous workout. Walking was boring... my talkative husband only spoke when spoken to - he is definitely NOT a morning person. Next time i'll bring my ipod or figure out the TV in the room.
I really need to figure out a good nutrition program. I don't think i get ENOUGH calories in a day, OR i get too many really shitty calories.
BTW, the straw that broke the camel's back was sunday when i had this to eat:
~Leftover thai food (Duck w/ red coconut curry)
~Leftover Fajita Nachos from LaNopalera Mexian
~5 Honey Garlic Wings from Gators w/ ranch
~Fried Green Beans
~Chili Cheese Nachos
~over a pitcher of Yuengling
~Cup of Funari's Banana Pudding/Brownie Batter Gelato
There. Now it's out in the open. No more eating like that.

Awesome! Yes, I use my iPod when i run, but I read when I bike. Swimming is the toughest because you can't do anything but swim. Good thing it's the shortest.
I must say I totally admire you for taking this on! :) I am hoping that once my surgery is done & I am healed, the dr will allow me to go back to the gym. I had just joined Bailey's & started going when I got sick & the dr cut me off. All I can do now is walk, and I'm usually too tired; bleh.
Most of my doctors have told me that the South Beach Diet is one of the most healthy & the most effective as far as weight loss. You'd probably have to modify it a little to compensate for your training though. But it really does teach a lifestyle change & detox your body from all the bad foods, AND you never go hungry!!
Yay, Mandi!! (and Barry, too!)
I'm just getting off my treadmill today. I ran more than I usually do (I say that, but there's really no 'usually'), but didn't quite make it to a full 5k. I think I'll get back on later and do it in 2 shifts. That counts, right?
